Over the years, the school has expanded its premises to cater to many more students with successful donations and contributions from prominent members of the society. Inspired from Swami’s teachings and guidance, we strive to provide a curriculum that promotes good values, character and service to humanity.
OUR STORY
How it all started
An ardent devotee of Swami and resident of Palasa, Mr. Mangaiah, was one of many who made monthly visits to Puttaparthi to take Swami’s darshan. As a man who was always occupied with Swami’s thoughts and His teachings, Mangaiah’s aim was to extend Swami’s teachings and values to the deserted land of Srikakulam district close to the residents of Palasa-Kasibugga.
Mangaiah’s prayers and devotion were answered when he came across a piece of development land, about 6 kilometers from Palasa-Kasibugga. Without further ado, on Novermber 23rd 1992, he got the 13.33 acres of barren land in the town of Ramakrishnapuran and registered it with the intention of building an institution under Swami’s name. He then immediately went to Puttaparthi to seek Swami’s blessings for the school and later established Sathya Sai Educational Service Society in 1995 along with key members known for their social service in the area.
For the next 15 years, the society conducted and practiced several devotional activities in the name of Swami to bring awareness among local residents. Activities included bhajans on Sundays between 8 to 8:45 PM, sathsangams, morning and afternoon aarthis, service to the old aged and much more.
As awareness began to rise, local residents along with people from neighboring cities like Palasa-Kasibugga, Sompeta, Ichchapuram, Tekkali, Narsannapeta, Srikakulam, Palakonda came forward to identify the 90/160 available plots in the land with hopes and prayers to start an educational institution soon.
After several donations and support from many alike, the first building finished construction with Swami’s blessings in 2010. Starting with 23 students, initial activities aimed at community service like preparing edible foods, feeding the old aged, providing weekly first aid and medicines to the needy, and organizing blood donations through medical camps. With Swami’s blessings, about 2 acres around the building was eventually developed with 18 Kamdhenu cows (Gomatas).
With further developments and infrastructure in place, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar Ramakrishnapuram branch was officially inaugurated on Swami’s 89th birthday November 23rd, 2014 with the mission to develop young individuals with the philosophies and ideologies propagated and guided by Swami so they can contribute to the world around them by way of their honesty, intellect and hard work. Over the next 2 years, the school’s headcount grew to over 220 students and faculty members accommodating classes I – VIII. The curriculum, inspired by Swami’s teachings, touches on a wide spectrum of knowledge from computers to meditation and drama to sports including skating, karate, volleyball etc. to community service and celebrating cultural events. The current building comprises of over 20 classrooms and dorms with a dedicated kitchen and dining hall providing full meals on campus.
In the recent years, SSSVV Ramakrishnapuram gained the likes of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini program launched by our dear Swami in 2010 along with a donation of INR 35,00,000 approved by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust (SSSCT). SSSVV Ramakrishnapuram has also been recognized by the Andhra Pradesh government for winnings in interschool competitions between SSSVV schools in Telangana and AP.
